I am an atheist and scientific skeptic. I'm 26 years old (unless I forgot to update this). I in was born in California but I've live in Georgia sense I was 11.
I call my self an atheist but my beliefs are more semi-agnostic atheistic deist. I do believe that some gods and god concepts do/can not exist while others are unfalsifiable however I do not believe in any gods and if there is a god or gods I believe it/they would not care about us nor would it/they interact with us. But "atheist" is shorter and I don't have to explain it (usually).
I believe the scientific method is the best way to achieve knowledge and an understanding of the universe around us. I believe it is though empirical observation and experimentation that we learn about and understand the world and universe around us not though faith or two thousand plus year stories.
Politically I'm moderate left though I advocate a centrist position. I believe in freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of thought and freedom of belief (which includes freedom of religion and freedom from religion). However I do not believe in appeasing any religion, philosophy or cultural beliefs nor do I believe that any one has to respect the beliefs of others, people only have to respect peoples rights to their beliefs, the beliefs them selfs are fair game.
I have two dogs one cat one dog and one cat deceased :'-(.

Just ran across your site today, and instantly bookmarked it – I have things I must do today, but tomorrow, I intend reading your ranting from cover to cover!
If you’d like to read some of mine (I take a slightly different approach, but all roads lead to… etc.), feel free to drop by, subscribe, post, RSS, do a cartwheel, scramble an egg, anything you like –
Like the man said, “Ah’ll be back!”

PS – what’s with the Ann Coulter ad? I shudder to think! (I don’t usually shudder, but it does help me think –)
Google ads are not that good at determining which ads should go where. If you a post is critical of Scientology, it would an ad for Scientology.
You an a intelegent man in the scientific explorationary topic and I injoy your work, what do you know about big bang.
One of the most persistently asked questions has been: How was the universe created? Many once believed that the universe had no beginning or end and was truly infinite. Through the inception of the Big Bang theory, however,no longer could the universe be considered infinite. The universe was forced to take on the properties of a finite phenomenon, possessing a history and a beginning.
About 15 billion years ago a tremendous explosion started the expansion of the universe.
We don’t know. We don’t have any information about the pre-big bang universe (if there was one) and our currant understanding of the big band can only go to 10-43 seconds after the it started, before that our currant understanding of physics breaks down.
That doesn’t mean there are not ideas but nothing scientific. The universe could be part of a multiverse and came out of another universe, the universe could have predated the big band and the big band was the universe changing from one form to another and if you take causality out than the cause could have postdated its beginning. But those are just ideas little to no scientific backing.
