Stupid Creationist Arguments 12: Nature Tends Towards Disorder

Copyright of Lone WolfThis stupid argument comes from two misconceptions, both of which I've dealt with before (Evolution part 4: Thermodynamics and Order From Disorder) but it wouldn't be much of a post if I just posted links so I'll have to deal with them again.
This stupid arguments deals with the second law of thermodynamics. The second law of thermodynamics is: "In a closed system entropy will remain constant or increase".

The first problem is the word "entropy". In layman's terms "entropy" means disorder however in thermodynamics "entropy" means the amount of energy available to do work.

The second problem with this argument is much more stupid. Whatever "entropy" means the argument would only apply if the earth was a closed system (it is not). The earth is an open system, we have energy coming in in the form of light from the sun.

A third problem with the argument is it ignores the observed fact that nature tends towards order not disorder. For example: crystals. Crystie have a orderly molecular structurer and they form on there own with no need for some external intelligence to make them. In fact you can see this at home: Make a simple syrup (put equal parts sugar and water in a pot and boil) boil the syrup, place a wooden skewer in the pot and sugar crystals will form on the skewer.
