Due to the rise of bad vamper fiction like Twilight, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries I feel that we now need rules for vampire fiction.
- Vampires drink human blood.
Protagonist or enemy, they drink human blood. - Vampires kill people for their blood.
Protagonist or enemy, they kill people for their blood. - Vampires do not see anything wrong with killing people for their blood.
They've been killing people since they became a vampire. In their minds, they have rationalized it and justified it. - Vampires do not think they are evil.
Why would a vampire think of himself as evil, a monster or a demon? Why would anything? - Vampires don't want to be human
This is a loose rule. It would make sense if the vampire had recently became a vampire, if the vampire is suicidal or the vampires in the story have some weakness's that lower their quality of life but generally, they don't want to be human, they like being a vampire and they think that humans are beneath them. - Vampires don't fucking angst!
They have been vampires for, if not centuries, decades. Why the hell would they angst like a pathetic teenager on one of those WB rich white kids with problems show!? Angsting vampires suck! (pun intended)
Edit: Okay and angsting vampires could work. A vampire that has recently became a vampire and is still dealing with it. A vampire that is clinically depressed. But angsting like a WB rich white kids with problems show, hell no!
Fallow these rules and you will not create a crappy pussy vampire and maybe a good story.
Edit: To further demonstrate what a vampire should be like I give you this snippet from a story I'm writing.
To say I take pleaser in taking a human life is not entirely accurate, I take pleaser in taking their blood. I have taken the blood of many people, some I remember, most I forget. There is one I often remember. She was a beautiful young women, she had been recently married. Her husband was not home but she thought he was, I had sneaked into there bedroom, she had just had a bath. she was beautiful, long black hair, firm breasts, her skin glistening in the pail candle light. I came up behind her and began kiss her, to stroke hear, and speak the most romantic words she had ever heard. We made our way to the bed where I gave her pleaser the likes of which her inexperienced husband could not, then at the height of passion I sank my fangs into her neck and fed. By the time she realized I was not her husband, what I was doing and what I was, it was too late. Her life was mine.
He rapes hi victim by deception then killer her and he is the protagonist.

Excellent rules and the snippet is interesting as I like my vamps dark. ;D Also, I think you meant “pleasure” and not pleaser?
