I was looking through the the Sunday sales papers and one had a page about Earth Day. Now I usually forget about earth day but this made me think "fuck earth day" so I decided to make a post about it.
Fuck Earth Day. It dose nothing but let idiots who do nothing to help the enviroment 364 days a year feel like they're doing something by trying to help the enviroment one day a year.
Its like when people give one dollar to a homeless guy it makes them feel good, it makes them, feel like they're helping. Its not. There are many charity's that actually help the homeless but instead of giving to a charity that will actually help the homeless they give one dollar to one homeless guy, once in a long while. Its the same with Earth Day, one day a year they do something to help the enviroment the rest they couldn't care less.
So, fuck Earth Day!

It’s neat working for Walmart. I am not concerned about our planet falling to global warming or anything like that, but it just makes good sense what Walmart is doing – encouraging personal responsibility, getting suppliers to use less packaging, and demanding companies that do business with us use sustainable and responsible practices.
People want to feel like they are helping the environment. They couldn’t care less whether they are actually helping the environment or not. Try explaining to most people why electric cars are worse for the environment then Hummers (batteries are nasty, nasty things, and all our power here is from coal anyway) and they just tilt their heads slightly, smile, nod, and continue on their merry way to buy a Prius so they can feel like they are helping. When I point out nuclear is the best option, they immediately utter something with melt down in it, despite the fact that our reactor design in Canada would be hard to melt down if we tried our best, and actually has proper containment around it, unlike Chernobyl. They then proceed down to the legislature to protest the oil sands, ignoring the fact that we’re also the countries main wind power producers.
People are stupid, and I’m starting to run out of sympathy. I think Plato and Machiavelli might have had it right.
