With 338 electoral vote for Obama and 156 for McCain and 44 left McCain can't catch up.

I can't help but feel that we dodged a bullet. Not McCain, I don't think he would have made a bad precedent (not a good on ether but I don't think Obama will be good ether) but he is in his 70's + the threats to a president of the US + the normal threats to people lives and if he was elected and if he dies in office than that Sarah dip shit and religious nut Palin would be president and that scares me more than Bush Jr's administration.

This is a historic day, not only do we have a black president, his name Barack Hussein Obama. Now that has to give this country some points. With all the people in the world that hates this country they have look at that and say "well, they may not be as bad as I thought"

In addition to Obama winning the House of Representatives add 8 and the Senate added 5 (as of the time this was posted).
The Republicans not only have lost the presidency the House and Senate are in the hands of Democrats. I can't help but think this is a good thing for the country and the Republican party as well. Maybe this will cause the Republican party to move away from uber conservatism and pseudo-conservatism (commonly called "neoconservatism"), to come closer to the center. Conservatism in and of it self is not bad but the Republican party has moved to far too the right, became too Conservative.

Well lets hope the Democrats don't screw up cause what progress has been made can easily be lost.
And (even though I know he'll never read this) Congrats Obama.
