God drownds the Egyption army (Exodus 14:26-28)
Okay so they where coming to kill the Israelites but, did God have to kill them? God is powerful enough to turn water into blood, send plagues, split seas, drown the world. Couldn't he have caused there chariots to fall apart and there horses to turn against them than run away? Not only would it have been bloodless but it would have been a far more humiliating defeat for the Egyptians.
Killing the warshipers of the golden idle ()
Moses spends so much times on the mountain some think that he's dead, with out a leader, far from the only home they knew. So what do they do? They turn to a god, not Jehovah (that God took them to the middle of the desert) so they turn to a different god and they make an idle. Moses comes down and God tels Moses to tell the sone of Levi to kill the people who worshiped the idle.
For some reason God will only speak to Mosses and no one else and Mosses was on the mountain for so long that some thought we has dead, they had fled Egypt, every thing they have ever known. What did God think they would do? And God is a god, he should have known what was going on and said something to them.
And why did God want them to die? If what they did really worth death?
Nadab and Abihu (
Nadab and Abihu the sons of Aaron brought "strange fire" (violating some rule on sacrificing animal as burn offerings) so God killed them by burning them to death, then Mosses comforts there father by saying "It [is] that which Jehovah hath spoken, saying, By those drawing near to Me I am sanctified, and in the face of all the people I am honoured" (Leviticus 10:3 Young's Literal Translation) then has there body's dragged out of the camp and tells Aaron that he is not to morn the deaths of his sons or he will die.
Need I say anything? or is the evil clear enough?
A blasphimer ()
A man blasphemed so God tells Mosses (again he doesn't speak to no one else) that he is to be stoned to death.
Complain and die! ()
The people complained, and this angered God, so he burned them, to death.
But that was not enough to stop the people from complaining. They wanted meat and they remembered all that they had gotten in Egypt, they remembered the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic and Mosses asked God to get them some meat and God said "Oh I'll give them some fucking' meat, they wan't have meat for a day or a week but for a month. I'll give them so much meat it will come out there nose and sicken! The fuckers!" And God gave them meat, enough for a month for all 600,000 of them. But God was angry and sent a plague to them.
There life in the desert was so bad pined for there life of slavery in Egypt? How good a god God must be to delver a people from slavery to something worse and then murder them when they complain then this evil god kills them for complaining.
The more I read the bible the more it sickens me.

There is no more potent force for atheism than to read the bible.

I am looking for the passage in the Bible where it says that God loves the smell of blood and I can’t find it. Can you tell me what book, chapter, paragraph that is in?
I told a friend that this was in the Bible and she couldn’t believe it so I want to prove it to her.
Thanks!
It was the “pleasing aroma” of the sacrifice to God from Noah, not necessarily of flesh or blood. God loves worship. Besides doesn’t cooked meat smell good sometimes?
I’m not aware of a of a part of the bible that explicitly states that Yahweh loves the smell of blood but Yahweh dose love to cause blood shed however Genesis 8:21 states that Yahweh love the “sweet” smell of burning flesh.
I think the question could be turned around to “Why does God let so many evil people live and not kill them?”
im a jesus loving christian (sorry)….but i too wondered about why god killed so many in the bible…its a very very tough question…i finally came up with my own theory…when god sent the flood (which if every culture and religion mentions it in some way or another , maybe it really did happen) …the reason he sent the flood was because , all that had breathe had corrupted itself….so maybe god lets people drown , cause when your drowning you cant catch your breathe …then in that moment you realize how important it was… and you may think about god but its too late….but it doesnt end there…thank god! scripture says , god kills and makes alive….so if someone was drowned horrifically by god but then god makes him come alive again….they might really start to like him after that!!!!!!!!
So your all knowing all powerful deity murdered every man woman child and animal because they were corrupt? First of all: That is no excuse for genocide. Second: Why were they corrupt? Yahweh made the world, the animals and the first two people. If they were corrupt in Yahwehs eyes than he set them up to be. Thirdly: Yahweh is a god. Why couldn’t he have cured them of their corruption? And don’t say free will. He took away their free will by murdering them.
Uh, no. There is a lot of flood myths but few global flood myths.
And you people say critics of the bible take quotes from the bible out of context.
That make about as much sense as tyeing a woman up in your basement and beating her on a daily basis until she gets Stockholm syndrome and agrees to marry you.
You say the pagans that were murdered sacrificed children, and say that pagans were deranged. Whats this based on? Nothing? Theres nothing to suggest that the pagans that were murdered did that. In fact the god of the bible did call on people to sacrifice there children (Exodus 13:2).
So what does Deuteronomy 13:6 mean? “You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.”
